Brier Island Lighthouse overnight
We left our overnight parking spot early and drove around the rest of the island.  It is a small island.  The ferry ride to Long Island, Nova Scotia was uneventful and short and FREE.

We had already paid the $7.00 Canadian coming over.
On Long Island we did a nice little hike to Balancing Rock.  A 1.7 km/2.25 mile well done trail with a Basalt Rock formation at the end (along with Mary’s Bay)…lovely, sunny.

Second ferry ride to Digby Neck and we are going back to the mainland.  I want to find some World Famous Digby Scallops!  Cod used to be king here but was fished out and now Lobsters and scallops are it.

Stopped at Forchu Lighthouse to take a look.

When 8:30pm arrived and we still had not found a suitable place to overnight (Forchu said no camping)…we got a little desparate and selected a roadside picnic park complete with babbling brook, fisherman’s memorial, old stone bridge and a fire chimney.  A quick game of polish poker and I was done for the day.
