Customs! Before leaving home, I carefully chose some homegrown and organic veggies to bring. With fingers cross, we entered the border crossing…wondering what would be taken from our veggie stash/hoping for nothing. In a whopping four minutes we were out of there and celebrating with no food removed. They asked about alcohol (we took the limit), weapons, and other visits to Canada…then pronounced us free to go with no boarding! In 2013, two personnel had a nice look around but took nothing just inspected where the products originated from (always leave labels on produce if you can).
Today enroute to Nova Scotia we hit the ATM and a NO Frills store to get some produce and other supplies. The ride took longer than anticipated as it was a bit windy and we are always slower than
mapquest tells us.
We arrived at dusk to our overnight parking
destination…the trailhead of Cape Split.
Our spot for the night overlooks the Bay of Fundy with its magnificent
tide fluctuations. After dinner we took
a short one mile walk up the trail to see what to expect…rocky, wet, but not
much elevation gain.
We are the only ones here; some cars have breezed
in and one was hiking but the evening was ours.
It rained all night but the wind was not bad.
David figured out his new phone and how to enable
it to make phone calls to the US…pay more money for service…$15.00 more got him
5gig of data and unlimited talk/text.
For $60 he gets Canada and Mexico.
