Thursday, Dec 2:  Walmart in Woodstock VA to Son’s house in Poughkeepsie NY.

An early start this morning to beat SOME of the massive amounts of trucks on route 81.  Poppycock that there is a shortage of truck drivers.  There were tons; more than we have ever seen of many years of 3 times per year driving on route 81.  They were lined up on the entrance ramps to rest areas, exit ramps and beyond on route 81 roadside itself.  No shortage; they are very busy.  Arrived to home base (our son’s driveway) around 2pm…glad to be able to see our grand babies (ages 9 months and almost 2).

Weds, Dec 1:  Lebanon TN Cracker Barrel to Woodstock VA Crackerbarrel

Overslept this morning…intended to leave at 5:30 but didn’t get rolling until 7am.  Now we know where ALL the trucks come from on route 81….they start somewhere in AZ and continue all the way east on 40 and then north on 81…  NOTE TO SELF!  Next time do this on a Saturday and Sunday to cut down number of trucks!  TONS of trucks today, one long 30 minute delay because someone decided that they needed to cut out a section of route 81 and replace it….Do it at night!  We ended the day at the Walmart in Woodstock Va because TWO someones took the good spots (and were just arranged however they wanted to be arranged in those spots) and we hung out over the bus are and they were doing construction on the restaurant so some spaces were being used for that as well.  Glad to be done for the day.  Picked up a walmart pick up order at this walmart as well. Good night. Home to son’s driveway tomorrow and see our grandboys!
