DAY 33 L’anse Aux Meadows

Moose siting at L'anse aux Meadows
June 21, 2013
Awoke to SUNSHINE…two days in a row…woohoo.  David says that weather.com is predicting/guessing that there is no rain in forecast for at least several days.  Sure.

Faux viking and faux hut at L'anse Aux Meadows..well done!
L’ans Aux Meadows is where we spent much of the morning.  L’ans Aux Meadows is a world heritage site

Flora
(Viking settlement was discovered there in 1960’s).  We read, we walked, we toured the site of the huts…talked to the faux Vikings on siteJ  Saw a mom and baby moose on the grounds.

We also drove around the area to see whatever else we could see in the far northern peninsula of Newfoundland.

Huge berg near L'anse
Lunch was at The Daily Catch in St. Lunaire-Griquet, NL (north of St. Anthony).  It was delicious..and I highly recommend it  (We ended up eating there twice)

David likes icebergs
Did laundry….watched dvd’s that we had brought on computer since we had electric for two nightsJ

RELAXED.

Still wrestling with the nonpotable water available at campgrounds (private and especially state parks)…please boil for 5 minutes.  We have purchased bottled water to drink which makes more sense to us since we are mainly free camping.
