Driving west with a stop in Elko, Nevada for groceries.
Our destination for the next few days (where it is going down into the teens!!) is Thomson Canyon Campground ($4.50 per night with the OLD GUY PASS twice that if you are young) near Lamoille (south of Elko, Nevada). Amenities in this National Forrest Service campground include trash, river water (to flush toilets), and we got a pull through site. Views are awesome with high mountains all around us and Aspen trees (yellow this time of year). I love trees and Nevada doesn’t always provide them. We took a ride to road’s end to scope out the trail we will hike tomorrow and had time to walk around the campground loops. Only a few other campers here.
