Tues, Oct 7: Meadow Hot springs to Private HOT SPRING
David did not soak this morning but instead he took care of some banking/vanguard stuff. Heading to an unnamed hot spring today. Stop at grocery store to get a few things. Stopped to top off gas.
Things to check out further: West of Delta by sevier dry lake bed there is U-dig fossils...do it. Then Painted springs 10 mile to the east. We need to explore more of this...LOVE Nevadas stark beauty. Also Sacramento pass is just after Baker to ONP. There is also the wildlife viewing area before ELY on right...a parking lot. Ward charcoal ovens sp in same valley before ELY/7 miles down dirt road. Cummins Lake on left before ely and ONP. On route 6 just south of ELY on the left heading south is Ward Recreation Area. We arrived at our secret hot spring in the afternoon with enough time to soak....and because it was 70 degrees outside and the water was HOT...it didn't last long at all. It was rather disappointing but we will be here for a few days with one being 25 degrees at night. We will see what we can do to further divert the HOT water.
Dinner was salad and diy turkey burgers. I am making burgers often...turkey and farm beef but they are more like meatloaf burgers. No oven so I have to get creative.
