Day 28: Friday, Oct 26, 2018 - Green River State park, Utah

Day 28: Fri, October 26
Today is move day…moving from the BLM lands outside of Canyonlands National Park to Needles Overlook BLM lands.  Quick breakfast and off we go. WELL, today did not go as planned…at all.  Needles Overlook no longer allows camping by the rim so we decided not to stay especially since it was very early in the day.  We were going to stay two days there too. So plan B was the forest service lands (also free) east of Moab…on the La Sal Loop Road.   Up, Up, up we went and there were no spots that were open that would fit our 24 foot motorhome with jeep…tents/cars yes, truck campers/yes.

I gave up on that after we got pretty darn high up the mountain; it was beautiful but nothing for us.     I don’t much care for Moab (NOab) anyway…just a tourist mecca really.  So we did some food shopping and left taking route 128 (VERY SCENIC) but again MOAB doesn’t allow free camping.  This route followed the Colorado river.  In the end we ended up in Green River State Park because by the time we got there the sun was setting fast.  Mali needed to get some of her energy
Burned up after being a super good/patient girl driving….there was a couple of wild, wild moments with jaws flying when I ask her if she was Hungry.

I was glad to be SOMEWHERE by the end of the day.  $35 to camp!!!! But we get water, showers (it is going to be a LONG one), dump and garbage and grass for Mali (there is no grass in Utah!).
