Thurs, Oct 3, Day 5:
Our first full day we decided to have a
leisurely therapeutic day at the Glenwood Hot Springs. This was value season so for $15 each we
spent several hours swimming/lolling in the 90 degree water…I could have stayed
in it all day without getting cold. The
mild movement was what my body needed after three days of sitting in the motorhome. Perfect!
Heading out to the rv for lunch we saw that some snow was on its way so
we decided to high tail it out of Colorado.
We stopped in Grand Junction to gas up and Colorado Welcome Center in
Fruita to dump our tanks, fill up with fresh water, and fill up toilet flushing jugs.
We were aiming for FREE blm lands near Goblin
Valley State Park in Utah. With a late
start, we made it to Green River, Utah where we spent the night in the Pilot
truck stop along with a handful of other rvs and lots of trucks. Despite all those trucks we found a quiet
spot. They also filled us up with
propane. We were hoping to not need
anything for five to seven days.
Green River is big on melon growing. You could get many different varieties almost anywhere in town. Carts have them for sale. After tasting a new variety (not watermelon!) we purchased two of them for the road.
