Day 5 – Friday, October 6, 2017: Drive from Rabbit Valley Recreation Area in Colorado to the BLM lands outside of Goblin Valley State Park in Utah. Both Mali and I had had it with long drives so this one only took a couple of hours and we were happy. Relaxed from the way too long Drive out here. David and Mali took a hike up to the top of the hill and I took a much Needed nap.
After an early dinner we took the jeep on the Temple Mountain Road (a BLM dirt road back beyond Goblin Valley and about 25 miles on dirt, then highway 70, then numbered road/24 back to Goblin Valley and rv). There were campers further back in there than we thought there could be. A great ride and we did not need four wheel drive. Saw cows and donkeys and mules and burros. The best part though was on Route 70 (!!!). There was an awesome section of rock east of exit 131 with great reds/oranges….like a mini grand canyon. We stopped at the overlook to take a panoramic shot….with less than stellar light as darkness was arriving quickly. Arrived back to the rv/box after dark
