Day 16 - October 17, 2017: Nevada...we like it!

Day 16 – Tuesday, October 17, 2017:
Today we move on to exploring more hot springs, getting internet access, phone
access…all in Nevada. As it turns out, no 4G Verizon internet access in
Tonopah…which foiled us. Filled up on gas and propane was not working.
These horses came galloping in for water...don't see that in NY.
Checked out Alkali Hot springs and took a quick dip but chose not to stay there…my gut said not to stay at this one. Saw a group of wild horses running in to get water…quite magnificent….actually not sure if they were wild or not.
Next stop was to see the Lunar Crater on route 6. Living in New York we don’t get
to see many of those. Oddly, it is not very well visited. Driving in with the Jeep hooked up to the Motorhome didn’t work out so well when we hit some loose cinders. We had to disconnect, bring the rv out and park it just inside the entrance. It didn’t belong on that road. Later on we took the jeep and pup for a ride to the rim ofthe crater. Of course, we were the only ones there. Pup had a rollicking game of
fetch on the long line with her little tennis ball and it served well to tire her out. Nice sun set. Lunar Crater is on BLM land (this land is your land!).

We've never had a rescue pup before and I can tell you Perfectpetsrescue.org picks some
great ones to rescue from the southern kill shelters. It is quite the experience getting
to know Mali and watching her blossom. She went from a girl on the streets of suburban
Atlanta Georgia to a shelter for 3 weeks, spayed/put on transport north, 1.5 days with
a foster, a few hours with another foster and home with us. Quite a lot of change
for one girl! She at first slept in a tight ball, would not play with toys. Now as I
update this 7 months later...she loves toys, her doggies cousins and all dogs/humans, she sprawls on her beds, a lap dog of 45 pounds. She is a funny girl.

Yup pretty awesome to have this all to ourselves!
