Day 40: Returning to Las Vegas to visit

Day 40/Nov 7, 2013  Thursday

Returning to Vegas  today to visit more with  Graham and Melissa.

We made some stops along the way.  One of these stops was the International Marketplace; it was recommended by Melissa & Graham.  This amazing store carries international foods and supplies.  Each country has its own aisle with specialties from that country.   They also carry fresh produce and meats and frozen specialties.  I've seen vegetables that were unknown to me.  Meats that I wouldn't eat (innards and such). Fresh fish (like really fresh fish as in alive or iced down and dead with eyeballs and everything).

David commented that he never so so many foods that he didn’t recognize.  Nor did he ever see so many ways to make noodles; every country seems to have noodles of some kind.  I walked out with a sushi mat and A few big hunks of ginger root….we won’t talk about the Lindt chocolate bar.  I eyed the rice makers but decided not to buy.

Our next stop was Deseret Industires (think the Mormon version of Salvation Army).  We decided to waste some time because Graham wouldn't be home for awhile.  I had hoped to get more of the bowls that I got with Melissa last week (pottery barn) but they were gone!  Instead david bought a set of rv levelers for $10 (normally $29 at walmart) and I got a rice cooker (new in box) for $5.  (would have been $18 at walmart).

A word about travelling in Las Vegas now that we are experts.  Traffic can be bad so if you travel between 9 am your life will be easier.    Staying at Casinos can be noisy.  If you are just going in for one day, stay out of Town on BLM land, one of the truck stops to the north, or  procure a campsite somewhere in a quieter part of town.

Will Post a summary when we leave Vegas.
