Day 33: Weds, Oct 31, 2018 - Utah, Notom Bullfrog Road/BLM lands

Day 33: Weds, Oct 31

This morning we took off early to explore Notom Bullfrog Road.  We went ALMOST all the way to the end (60? Miles on paved and dirt and gravel) but we are low enough on gas to let the rest wait for another time so that we can do other things we want to do.  We hiked some of the Surprise Canyon until we got to the part where we would have had to crawl up a choke stone…to difficult with dog and I wasn’t into it….too much work.  I want to walk.  After that we drove up the Burr Road switchbacks and travelled beyond that for maybe 8 miles.  We wanted to check out future boondocking sites that we would use to explore more of Burr Road (the further south portion).  Down the Burr Road Switchback and home to the rv.  We made it back for cider/wine and dinner.  Polish poker and campfire.

Day 32: Tues, Oct 30, 2018 - Utah, Notom Bullfrog Road/Pleasant creek

Day 32: Tuesday, October 30

Rain due this morning and lots of clouds so walking in canyon is not advised…so we will be moving on to our next BLM camping spot.  Factory Butte was our destination and a short distance away but we didn't find anywhere we wanted to stay.   In the end we decided to move on to Pleasant Creek off Notom Bullfrog Road.   Too windy for campfire.

Day 31: Mon, Oct 29, 2018 - BLM lands outside of Goblin Valley State Park

Day 31: Mon, Oct 29
David took off to hike Crack Canyon and Mali and I stayed home to relax.  He can go faster without Mali and question mark on how scraped up her paws are from yesterdays rocks…note to self to make leather booties over the winter.

Me…on gentle walking only for now.  I had things to do at rv like cleaning, dog food inventory, walking with mutt, etc.  Campfire tonight.

Day 30: Sun, Oct 28, 2018 - BLM Lands outside Goblin Valley State Park

Day 30: Sun, Oct 28

Took a diy hike up to the hills across from campsite.  We’ve done this before and it always looks like it is a quick walk up BUT nope.  There are layers and depth that you don’t see…so deceiving.  David took Mali off leash for a bit and she ranged….too far for me so back on leash she went.  Went to see an arch and then I slowly went down and back to rv while David and Mali continued onward.  I managed to take a nap and then they came back soon after.  Before dinner off for a jeep ride for tomorrow’s potential canyon scramble.   CAMPFIRE tonight!

Day 29: Saturday, Oct 27, 2018 - BLM lands outside of Goblin Valley State Park

Day 29: Sat, Oct 27
Dump tanks/trash/fill water tanks/gas fill up in Green River and a

short 44 miles took us to the BLM lands outside of Goblin Valley State Park…a favorite.  Being a Saturday, I expected to not score a good spot until after the weekend.  As luck would have it we had a choice of several spots and scored a nice one that came with some fire wood (and fire ants…boiling water dispatched them). RELAXING today.  This is one of our favorite places to visit and walk.
