Day 28:
Wilson Canyon, NV to Bridgeport, CA

Our overnight spot |
Around
5:15 am (I was awake but not up) we could begin to hear cars. Across the street and back in was a sizeable OHV (off highway
vehicle, think sand buggy type things) area and this was Saturday.

Hiking in Wilson Canyon |
After
breakfast our trailhead provided us with a nice hike and 4.35 miles of exercise
with 2,000 feet of up and down. The
beauty of it besides the nice little canyon with a well marked trail was that
we were the only ones on the trail.
Petrified wood abounded and rock colors of greens, rusts, purples, etc.
rewarded us well. Back for lunch
(chicken stew which I cooked at breakfast time). Library WIFI stop while we searched for ways
to not go to far today as it is Saturday and recreation day for most folks.
We
made numerous attempts to find ANY spot in Nevada before we hit California and
didn’t find anything suitable away from road.
Along the reservoir near Bridgeport California we spotted a nice, wide,
gravel Forest Service road and decided to see what it would bring. We landed a nice spot with a great view of
the Sierra Mountains out our window.
There is only one other rv along this road. After dinner we took a walk further up the
road (and it was UP) for about ¾ mile and still didn’t see anyone else…so we
scored!
The End
