Day 14/Radio tower west of Sand Point, NS to Louisbourg
Lighthouse
As usual with the cool 40+ mornings in the “box”,
up early and drive to heat up the rv.
Stop to get internet and do morning things like breakfast/showers.
Our driving goal today was to get close to Sydney
so that we could get ready to take the ferry to Newfoundland.
There wasn’t much to do along our route in
the way of hiking or beach walking so we drove as far as we could. We arrived at Louisbourg Lighthouse
mid-afternoon and since it is light enough to walk until 9 pm this time of
year, we hit the Louisbourg Lighthouse trail…10 km or 6 miles round trip.
I nice walk with the farthest parts being a
bit wet but doable….a much needed walk! It went through coastal forest of black
spruce and balsam (can you smell the balsam???) and by rocky beaches.
